Abstract

There are many postulated benefits of inclusive physical

education for both students with and without disabilities.

However, although students with disabilities are physically

included in the activities, their peers without disabilities

may not socially include them. This can become a barrier for

meaningful inclusive experiences for students with and without

disabilities in physical education. It is the responsibility

of the physical education teacher to encourage students to

interact with everyone in the class, and Adventure Education

(with proper facilitation by the teacher) can be one way

to enhance the social interactions between students, thus

increasing the positive and meaningful interactions for all.
