Author Guidelines

Session Proposal Format

Your submission will consist of 2 parts:

1) An abstract uploaded to the Sagamore submission system: GO TO LOGIN

2) A Qualtics questionnaire indicating your presentation/poster preferences TALS 2019 Submission Cover Page

Proposal (Uploaded to Sagamore submission system): Do not include personal details of the presenter/s. The Research and Teaching Institute Presentation Proposal should include the following:

  • The title (no more than 12 words) at the top of the abstract.
  • The abstract should be a maximum of one page, single-spaced. Figures and tables may be included on a separate page. References may be included on an extra page. Use 12-point font and one inch margins on top, bottom and sides.
  • Abstracts may describe works-in-progress, a compilation of best-practices in teaching, completed (previously published or unpublished)/traditional research, or teaching demonstrations.  Abstracts should be presented with effective and clear sub-headings.
  •  A brief mention of how the time slot will be used and organized
  • The TALS Conference on Research and Teaching is a venue for sharing ideas and information related to research and teaching. Proposals will undergo a blind review by two reviewers. Ratings will be based on how well the session addresses the Conference theme, the stated purpose of the Conference, and the criteria outlined in the call.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
