Abstract

The study examines the amount of price tolerance exhibited by public recreation consumers for various program activities. A method is presented for determining the extent to which participants are willing to pay fee increases before expressing measurable resistance. The fmdings demonstrate that clear price threshold levels for recreation activities do exist, and that they vary substantially from one activity to another. Implications for formulating pricing decisions are discussed.
