Abstract

The personal computer has been accepted as a necessity in the daily routine in most
businesses. Taking over routine tasks, the ·computer allows the user more time for
thinking and creative work. The therapeutic recreation specialist can use the personal
computer not only as an aid to program administration but also as a tool that will
enhance an ongoing program. This article explores this new technology and presents
examples of how computers can be used effectively in day-to-day therapeutic recreation
programs.
