The Leadership in Action Series

Since 1970, the Center for Creative Leadership has worked “to advance the understanding, practice and development of leadership for the benefit of society worldwide†(Center for Creative Leadership, 2014, para. 1). Consequently, a series in which leadership is examined from multiple perspectives published by the center should come as no surprise. The first four volumes of the series are included in this review. Each volume was read for not only content but also usability as a teaching tool. In compiling this review, I examined content and pedagogy with an eye not only on academic but also practitioner value. Because the titles of the volumes clearly identify the content, I will not discuss the volumes individually. Instead, I will focus on the series as a whole with tables illustrating content and pedagogical characteristics by volume.
