Abstract

An economic impact assessment is a document that financially demonstrates accountability. This study shows the effects of using various multipliers when measuring economic impact and demonstrates that impact estimations can be unreliable due to inappropriate multipliers. It is suggested that a range of relatively accurate measurements can be acceptable. It is concluded that park and recreation managers should be aware of multiplier misuse.
