The At-Risk Youth Recreation Project

This article describes the results of a project funded by the National Recreation Foundation through the National Recreation and Park Association. Its purposes were ( l) to increase the amount of evidence available about the impact of park and recreation programs on at-risk youth; (2) to develop instrumentation and improve methodologies for undertaking systematic evaluations of these programs; and ( 3) to develop information about the current status of park and recreation programs for at-risk youth.
