Abstract

One unique form of leisure services delivery which is actively trying to assess its future direction for the 1990s can be found within the United States Armed Forces. It is argued that identifying future issues is an important management activity for morale, welfare, and recreation (MWR) organizations. A nominal group technique was employed to identify future issues and trends in MWR agencies. The application of this collective decision-making technique and the fmdings are described in the article. Findings were consistent with public park and recreation futures literature. Finally, implications for professional practice are discussed.
