Abstract

If evaluation is to be most effective, evaluators must have and use certain knowledge and skills. Some of this knowledge and certain fundamental skills must be provided and developed through the undergraduate curriculum. Students must come to appreciate the need and professional responsibility for the formal evaluation process. The purpose of this paper is to examine the evaluation process and the competencies that should be addressed in the undergraduate curriculum and that could be applied in professional practice.
