Abstract

The Personal and Professional Spheres: Complement or Conflict for Women Leisure Service Professionals? The visibility of women within leisure services continues to increase as more women become employed and as more females graduate from recreation professional preparation programs in universities and colleges. Both men and women are faced with the integration of their personal and professional lives, but because of the traditional role expectations of women, this conflict between the two is a particular concern for female leisure service professionals. This article describes the research conducted with a randomly selected group of female leisure service professionals in Wisconsin. Illustrations of the personal and professional concerns of these women are shown through quantitative and qualitative analyses of these data.?
