A Review of Research on Adapted Physical Activity of Autism Spectrum Disorder in China: 1992 to 2019

Abstract


ASD research in China has experienced development from information introduction (translation of foreign research) to multidisciplinary research over the past 30 years. Although the quantity and quality of literature has greatly improved, there are still problems in the research on ASD in China related to physical education and physical activity, such as the low number of publications, the lack of research standards, the lack of researchers, and the lack of interdisciplinary collaborative research. Therefore, in the field of ASD research in China, the related research on physical education/physical activity is still in the initial stage and there is potential for development. Chinese researchers are faced with challenges and opportunities at the same time.
