Latvian Disabled Children and Youth Sport Federation (the LDCYSF or the Federation) has been providing physical activities and sport for children and young people with disabilities and special needs for about 20 years. From daily sport activities on recreation level to high sport performance and in-service professional training in adapted physical activities, the LDCYSF offers a variety of services to help children and young people with disabilities overcome life's challenges and achieve personal goals. Today the LDCYSF includes 32 member organizations with about 350 individual members. Only three member organizations have paid sport specialists on their staff, while all others are using volunteers to organize sport activities for children and youth with disabilities. The LDCYSF is governed by the Executive Committee including the chief of the committee and four regional representatives. The LDCYSF is a member of the Latvian Paralympic Committee and the Latvian Special Olympics.
