Abstract

Ridderrennet is a week-long camp offering winter sport activities to people living with a physical or visual disability. Ridderrennet offers a variety of social and cultural activities, in addition to the sports activities. It has been organised at Beitostoelen, Norway, every year since 1964. Today Ridderrennet involves more than 1,200 participants and volunteers. The participants’ degree of disability varies, as well as their skiing abilities. Ridderrennet welcomes all participants, from novices to Paralympic athletes. It provides a sportive and social meeting place, which is unique of its size and kind.
