Abstract

It can be difficult to find activities in which everyone, regardless of ability, can successfully participants. Ribbon activities can fill that void, as well as engage students in creative and rhythmic, as well as fitness oriented, fun. Ribbon activities are based on the ribbon event in rhythmic gymnastics. While a regular gymnastic ribbon can be used, it is also possible to make ribbons customized to the needs of individuals. While there are specific movements to ribbon manipulation in rhythmic gymnastics, there is no limit to the type and character of movements possible in free ribbon use.
