How Fit Do Physical Educators Need To Be?

Abstract


This article begins with a summary of some research on the relationship  between a physical educator's physical fitness and his/her (1) employability and (2) teaching effectiveness. This is followed by a philosophical discussion of how physically fit the physical educator needs to be. Arguments favoring both a  moderate and high fitness standard are presented. A concluding viewpoint is  expressed.
