Abstract

This paper presents a model of therapeutic recreation that is based on Aristotelian ethics. The model defines human conditions relevant to therapeutic recreation intervention, treatment outcomes, and roles of the therapeutic recreation specialist in working toward accomplishment of those outcomes. A hypothetical case is presented illustrating the model, and strengths, weaknesses, and limitations are explored.
