Abstract

Social validation procedures have become increasingly important in applied research. These procedures involve assessing the social significance of the goals, the social importance of the effects, the social appropriateness of the procedures, and determining optimal levels of performance. These procedures are discussed in terms of their significance to therapeutic recreation research.
