Abstract

The present manuscript examines the use of an innovative research tool-experience sampling methodology. By employing an electronic paging device, this method allows researchers to investigate aspects of daily experiences in their natural contexts. This method opens up many possibilities for researchers in therapeutic recreation by allowing them to investigate both objective and subjective aspects of the daily experiences of individuals with disabilities. Strengths and weaknesses of the method are reviewed and potential research applications are offered.
