Abstract

This study reports the demographic and leisure profiles of790 adults with physical disabilities participating in personal interviews. The sample was comprised of individuals with a wide variety of physical disabilities. Individuals with acquired disabilities reported lower levels of leisure satisfaction than those with congenital disabilities. Significant associations between leisure satisfaction and degree of functional impairment were also reported. Discussion focuses on the implications of the findings in terms of the provision of therapeutic recreation services.
