Abstract

A parent once commented in high esteem, Lab School teachers don’t think outside the box, they don’t even see the box!  I have not forgotten that mother’s words because they are so right on. When teachers are given permission by their leadership to experiment in their teaching and to trust their own  creative gifts, then great teaching happens. Sally Smith gave me, gave all her teachers, the permission to use our unique artistic talents to teach students with learning disabilities -- total freedom to experiment--so that’s what I did.
