Abstract

The current research reviewed the benefits of a sailing program for children with disabilities. Sailing was performed with Sail To Prevail, a community partnership, to determine if there was an increase in health related quality of life, using a feelings chart as well as a PedsQL survey. This research also looked at the difference between children and parents and their views of their child’s increase in health related quality of life by using a parent proxy survey. Frequent sailors grip strength was also studied while using a Jamar Dynamometer.
