A System for Remote Supervision: An Innovative Guide to Supervising Student Teachers

Elizabeth A. Theriot, Justin J. Bueche, Wesley J. Wilson, Luke E. Kelly

As higher education begins to move toward distance learning, there is much to be explored about the future of teacher education. Not immune to these changes, adapted physical education teacher education programs should consider how to keep pace with these trends, especially as it relates to student teacher supervision. The purpose of this paper is twofold: 1) to discuss past attempts at supervision through web-based platforms using a remote supervision system and 2) to present an improved model for remote supervision. Our feasibility testing revealed our model to be functional in adapted physical education settings.
