The Physical Educator

Originally published in 1940 by Phi Epsilon Kappa as a quarterly publication for its fraternity members, The Physical Educator is one of the longest standing journals providing research-based articles relating to physical education, health, recreation, and related areas. This periodical is now published six times per year and available for non-members and libraries. Phi Epsilon Kappa Fraternity is a national professional fraternity for persons engaged in or pursuing careers in physical education, health, recreation, dance, human performance, exercise science, sports medicine, and sports management.

The Journal Impact Factor (JIF) is a ratio which divides a journal’s received citations by a count of its published articles. It is calculated by Clarivate and reflects the yearly mean number of citations of articles published in the last two years in a given journal, as indexed by Clarivate's Web of Science.  The Physical Educator is receiving a JIF for the first time in Clarivate’s 2023 Journal Citation Reports (2022 data).

The Physical Educator has a current JIF of 0.6.

• TPE is indexed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI).
• Citations from the ESCI are included in the citation counts - Journal Citation Reports.
• TPE is discoverable via Web of Science with an identical indexing process to any other indexed journal, with full citation counts, author information and other enrichment.
• Articles in ESCI-indexed journals are included in an author’s h-index calculation, and in analysis conducted on Web of Science data or related products, such as InCites.
